Transportation, Buildings, and Industrial Decarbonization for Northern MN:
Data, Tools, and Findings from the Communities LEAP (Local Energy Action Plan) Project
Join us at the DECC (Harborside Convention Center) on October 10th to discuss the promising future of buildings, transportation, and industrial decarbonization in the northern MN region. Engaging in a Department of Energy program known as Communities Local Energy Action Plan (C-LEAP), the City of Duluth and Ecolibrium3 were partnered with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to conduct analysis of Duluth buildings, transportation, and industrial decarbonization opportunities in the context of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The outcomes from this C-LEAP partnership provide findings that may be beneficial for the greater northern MN region, so we’re excited to share results and incubate these ideas together!
This session is co-hosted by the City of Duluth, Ecolibrium3, and NREL staff. Attend to learn details of the C-LEAP analysis and discuss the tangible potential for advancing the energy transition through buildings, transportation, and industrial decarbonization in Minnesota. This gathering will provide a platform to understand the opportunities and address concerns or challenges associated with this transition, while exploring the potential role of Minnesota in accelerating these initiatives for the nation. With access to renewable energy sources, hydrogen storage potential, and existing infrastructure and raw materials, this region presents an exceptional opportunity for the growth and success of clean energy technologies.
We look forward to sharing insights, exchanging ideas, and collectively shaping the path towards a greener industry in the region. Your presence and active participation in this event will contribute to understanding potential pathways towards sustainable practices that foster a more resilient future for our industries.
Morning Session: Transportation and Buildings

Important Note: We will follow the CDC guidance for St. Louis County. However, in order to protect those who are immunocompromised, we ask attendees to not attend if they suspect they may have or been exposed to COVID-19, and to respect those who choose to wear a mask.
We are excited to share the Communities Local Energy Action Plan and associated industrial decarbonization conversation with you. This project was made possible through a technical assistance grant provided through the Department of Energy. Ecolibrium3 took the leadership for application and is leading at the intersection of energy, equity, and economic vitality! Please consider supporting our work.
