Buckthorn Removal Volunteer Sign-Up
We are seeking volunteers for a buckthorn removal project. Buckthorn is an invasive species and is overgrowing our native plants on the Eco3 Urban Farm. We are removing two species, Common Buckthorn and Alder/Glossy Buckthorn to better support a native ecosystem for our farm and crops.
There are two opportunities to participate in this project:
Session One:
Saturday, October 11
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Session Two:
Saturday, October 18
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Herbicides will be in use during the volunteer event. For your protection, we are requiring volunteers to arrive ready to go with long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and sturdy footwear. PPE such as work gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection will be provided by Eco3.
